Our Egyptian Cotton Sheets

We can proudly say that our Egyptian cotton sheets are the best in the market. But what makes them so special? To understand that, you first need to know the difference between long staple cotton and regular cotton.

Egyptian cotton has been acknowledged to be the best cottons in the world. That being said, most of the consumers are unaware of the fact that long staple cotton and regular cotton come from two different plants. Therefore, their properties and quality can never be the same.

Here's what you need to know...

Also known as "Long Staples", these cotton fibers are considerably longer in length compared to regular cotton fibers.

These long fibers translate into uninterrupted yarns without many joints in between. Thus, the fabric made from these yarns is softer, stronger and long lasting.

On the contrary, yarns made from short fibers have multiple joints which make the fabric coarse, rough and weak eventually making them pill and wear out.

Here's why our sheets are the best in America..

1. SINGLE PLY YARN

We use only single-ply yarns which makes our sheets softer and stronger.

Ply is the number of yarns twisted together to make a thread. A single-ply yarn is made by twisting a single long staple fiber.

Double-ply refers to a group of lower grade short staple fibers twisted together to make a thread.

2. THREAD COUNT

Tread count is the term used to determine the number of threads woven together per square inch of fabric.

Consumers feel that higher the thread count, softer the fabric. But that’s not always true.

High thread count sheets are often misinterpreted by manufacturers. Instead of counting each thread in a square inch of fabric, they count each ply spun together within each thread and that’s misleading.

3. SATEEN WEAVES

A sateen weave is one-yarn-under and three-yarn-over. As only one interlacement is happening between each warp and weft, more thread surface is exposed which gives the fabric a soft and subtle sheen.

Compared to percale, sateen is more tightly woven which makes it buttery soft and comfortable for year round use.

Our Premium and Classic Giza Egyptian cotton sheets are crafted from Sateen weaves

5. TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED DYEING

Our sheets are dyed in a temperature controlled unit using the best German technology. The process ensures that the fabric has strongly bonded colors that do not bleed.

6. FINISHING

The fabric is finally finished and is made ready for use by singeing (burning) off the bits of yarn that sticks out.

We use only German made State of Art Osthoff singe machines which are considered to be the best in the industry.

This machine allows us to customize its settings so that our sheets have a unique feel, like none other in the market.

7. QUALITY CONTROL

Here we pass the fabric through the German made Pleva straightening machine to detect and straighten out any distorted threads.

This gives the fabric a consistent look and feel.

8. AUTOMATED COLOR INSPECTION

We use an Israel made color inspection machine to detect any uneven distribution of color. Even a slight defect in color distribution is flagged and the fabric is rejected.

9. FINAL MANUAL CHECK

Although we use best raw materials and latest technology to make our sheets, we firmly believe in human ingenuity. As a final step, our skilled and experienced craftsmen inspect every single item to ensure that our customers receive the best product their money can buy.
